Fabric Letters

Another great idea I saw on Pinterest was to create fabric letters. I printed out large block letters and cut out the outside of the letters. After I was sewing and cutting I realized my I was just a line, if I go back I might make the I have the lines on the top and bottom to make it less confusing when I introduce the lower case letters. I then found some old men’s work shirts, and an old baby blanket (I liked the one in the picture because it added some nice texture to the letters).

I used a pen/pencil to trace outside of the letters. When sewing I tried to keep the line on the outside of the foot, so when drawing I made to sure to leave the room. When sewing, look for a stitch that will secure the outside.

Then once you finished sewing, cut the letters out.

I wanted to make the letters using 4 different colors to add some color and to introduce patterns.

It was super easy, super cheap (if you use old clothing), and a really fun new educational toy that can spend some time with my toddler(s). Enjoy!!
